Kupkakes

Good day, fellas!
I totally forgot to post this one, but we actually went baking at Katina's earlier this week. It was kinda hectic I guess. I was just off from a friend's house and went to Trattoria for brunch with Sasha, Katina, Michelle, Kathleen, Angie, and Veren. It was later that we went to Kat's house for the baking thing.
The cupcakes actually made their way out of the oven successfully! And, most importantly, they taste amazing. But it wasn't until five minutes ago that I realized how pink and girly-ish our cupcakes actually are. Which is fine with me, I guess. Since we're just gonna eat it anyway :p

Oh, and the best cupcake goes to my “ *heart* Zac” cupcake (everyone's gonna hate me for this -,-)

2nd in the first row. My beautiful Zac cupcake :p

All pictures are either Sha's, Kat's, or Angie's. I'm too lazy of an ass nowadays to carry around a camera with me everyday. So much for an inspiring photographer (says who?)

Aanyway, school has been rather mediocre this day. When we had finally went through all of the IDP shits, here comes the real bomb: Semester Assignment. We'll get our Oral (Examinations) next week and SA is not far away from there. Guess my life will end soon.

Nevertheless, have a great day! I'm just going to crawl under my blanket and hope that someone will lit a fire to our school tonight. Cheers.

Baligram

A cute boutique in Kuta

Carrot Pineapple Walnut cake in Jenggala Cafe. Best dessert yet.

The 'sajen' in Burger King. They actually put calamari on it!

Post surfing lesson.

A gruesome looking burger. Don't ever try this, ever!

Just a few shots I took in Bali during the last few days.

It was the 2nd time we go to Bali during the first week of October so all we did there was walk, and eat, and relax. But it was too goddamn boring for me so I try to swim in the ocean (bad decision) and took a surfing lesson (best decision). Surfing was the most fun and challenging single-person sport I have tried yet. I was trying to go for water-skiing but we didn't have enough time. Mom was so mad when I got back to the hotel after the 2nd day of my surfing lesson with my arms and legs all bruised up and scratched and my body all covered with sand and salt.

But it was fun fun fun. And I'm looking forward to surf some moree~

Fluorescent Adolescent

I gave the DIY article in the NYLON's August issue a try, and even though the end result almost fail epically (almost), I thought it won't kill if I post the tutorial here just for the sake of it. So here's how to make the awkward looking shorts that those fat and bald men in Bali often use:

The essentials:

  • a copy of NYLON's August issue for (extra) preference (optional)
  • a pair of light-color jeans
  • Acrylic paint, preferably neon colours, more preferably neon yellow (I can't find a fabric dye, but acrylic does the same job)
  • cheap brush. seriously. it's only for a lame shorts.
  • paint for pattern, in different colour
  • Kings of Leon's "Come Around Sundown" to scream along to (optional)
The steps:

1. Cut your jeans into the preferable length of your choice. I made mine short since long pants in neon yellow is just too much. Like really.

2. Soaked your jeans in a bucket filled with water mixed with the paint. I let mine stay in there overnight just so the colour would be absorbed thoroughly.

3. Take the pants out of the water, rinse it with cold water, and let it dry for a while before you could do the most vital part of this experiment: which is to spray the paint all over it.
Words of wisdom from me: if you don't have the "art hands" just be really careful, or else it'll look horrid if the paint is not spread out evenly.

So, of course, I failed epically in step 3 since I definitely do not have the "art hands". And so here's the end result of my fail shorts.

THEEND *winkwink

The kids with the pumped up kicks

The irony of being the doctor's kid. I hate hospitals. It emits some sort of deathly vibe that it makes me sick, and want to pass out, even after almost 14 years of going into lots and lots of hospital. I practically spent at least 2 hours of the day in this disinfectant-smell, absurdly hygiene place since it's holiday and I practically had nothing to do. Not that I was willing to go anyway. I rather stay in bed watching DVDs rather than witnessing sick people being passed around on beds that look more like gigantic trays by blue-green uniformed men or women. I hate holidays.

But this is how the story ends

"I don’t want to live in vain like most people. I want to be useful or bring enjoyment to all people, even those I’ve never met. I want to go on living even after my death." – Anne Frank

It was raining cats and dogs on our last day in Amsterdam. The summer warmth has vanished along with the rain as everyone went out of their houses with boots and jackets and umbrellas.

We went to the city to visits the museums there.
Despite of the rain and the cold harsh wind that was blowing non-stop, people are coming from all over the places to visit the museums and other tourists places and we ended up skipping the first two museums in our itinerary due to the very long queue.

The queue in the Rijsk museum wasn't any better than the rest. But it's the shortest among all and we didn't have anywhere else to go so we joined up the long line.

After lunch, we decided to skip the Van Gogh museum and went directly to Anne Frank's house. I was looking forward to it that I didn't mind standing under the rain for an hour and a half as we waited in the queue before we finally got in. (The wind was strong enough to break one of our umbrellas, but we managed)

They didn't let us take pictures in any of the museums that we'd visited so I splurged the last of my euros on postcards as souvenirs for myself. The photo on the left was on display at the beginning of our tour in the house along with a quote from Anne, and Mom & I almost teared up right then right there.

Went to a pancake house for our last kaffeetrinken after the rain stopped. They served really great poffertjes.

We took the bus home so we could be on time for dinner. I can't believe that this journey has to end.
